We Are Subculture is a visually striking and deeply personal exploration of the climbing community's diversity, individuality, and the often unseen mental health struggles within it.
Through 48 meticulously staged photographs and 13 anonymous short stories by Niall Grimes, the book captures climbers of all backgrounds, ages, and identities, each expressing their inner worlds through costume, setting, and pose. The project aims to challenge stereotypes, promote inclusivity, and encourage open conversations about mental health in climbing.
All profits from the book are donated to Mind Charity, supporting better access to mental health services.
