The Super 8’s modern take on a classic belay device includes a smaller ring for the non-rope bearing area to decrease size and waste metals.
The larger, rope-bearing side of the device can easily work with a double rope set up with rope up to 8.1mm and can handle up to an 11m single rope, making this a very versatile piece of equipment.
